Recent SFW Celebrations at NYPRO Bray

The CEO of NYPRO, Kevin Heffernan presented certificates to staff from the company after they completed a Skills for Work Workplace Language Course. Mr. Heffernan complimented the staff on their commitment to the course and the dedication they showed as they learned new skills which in turn has benefited the company greatly. Based on the success of this SFW course the company are discussing with SFW and KWETB progression routes to further their workplace learning.

Skills for Work at the Horse Show in the RDS

Hall 1 – Stand No. 7 August 9th- 13th


Skills for Work are delighted to be accepted by the RDS management as one of the groups promoting their product at this year’s National Horse Show. The Horse Show is a great place to meet groups of people offering a wide variety of information on interesting topics. This year Skills for Work will be available throughout the five days of the show to promote the extensive range of workplace educational opportunities for those interesting in returning to education.

Skills for Work – Woodies Staff Galway City

Skills for Work recently ran a Computer course in Galway City attended by 8 staff from the 2 local Woodies stores. Six of the eight participants are pictured here receiving their Certificates of Course Completion. Also included in the photograph are Lynne Keery – AEO Galway & Roscommon ETB, Kieran Harrington – Adult Literacy Officer Galway City and Geraldine O’Haire – Skills for Work West Co-ordinator. The 35 hour course ran over 12 nights at Seville House, New Dock Street.

SFW GRETB & Woodies staff

Candidates will receive certification in “Internet Skills” and feedback would indicate that all have become a lot more proficient in using email and other internet applications. The candidates are looking forward to perusing further studies through Skills for Work later in the year.

Decare Dental, Claremorris

Eight staff from Decare Dental in Claremorris, Co Mayo completed a 35 hour Skills for Work course. The staff attended the course twice a week over six weeks. The course was delivered at the local ETB Further Education Centre which allowed participants attend their SFW course at times suitable for both the staff and employer. The course was delivered by tutors from MSLETB.
